project detail

ephemeral finance

a local-only personal finance app i built for myself to make tracking, insights, and analytics feel more useful than a plain spreadsheet.

jan 2026typescript, react, vite, tailwind css, supabase, node, google gemini api, javascript

what it is

a full-stack finance tracker focused on helping me understand my own spending, trends, and habits through a richer interface and stronger analytics.

who it's for

just me, really. it was built around how i wanted to track things rather than as a general-purpose product for other people.

key features

  • transaction tracking with a wider analytics layer on top.
  • insights-oriented ux instead of just logging numbers.
  • full-stack setup using supabase, node, and a modern react frontend.

what i built

i built the app end to end, covering the frontend, data model, integrations, and the insight layer. the interesting part of this project was balancing personal usefulness with enough structure to make the analytics feel genuinely worth opening.
